"Enlarge the location of your tent, let the curtains of your dwellings be stretched wide, and don't hold back. Lengthen your cords; strengthen your stakes.” Isaiah 54:2 ISV
We are called by God to expand All for Him ministry’s reach once again. So, we did! We stretched the curtains of our dwelling wide to Africa. First stop, Ethiopia.
Ethiopia is the second largest country in population of over 90 million in Africa with roughly 80% of its population in extreme poverty. The average per capita annual income is US $380.
This year we made our first missions trip to Ethiopia. Below are our findings and the projects we are praying and hoping to undertake. Hope you will be inspired and stand with us with your continued prayers and support.

I. The harvest is plenty (Luke 10:2) - Urbuu worship community
The population in this particular community is growing exponentially. At present, the Ethiopian government is building an estimated 60,000 unites housing complex in the close proximity to our project location expected to house close to 500000 people.
Not all parents can afford to send their preschool children to school because of the cost. School attendance is also reduced when children have to travel long distances to school as this increases personal risk and transport costs.
This development provides significant opportunity to proclaim the gospel and serve those in desperate need by standing in the gap and building an early child hood development center. In addition, we plan to expand the existing place of worship to accommodate the population growth.

A comprehensive early child hood development center and a place of worship not only provides needed assistance for the community, but also creates new and sustained vitality in the church through volunteer opportunities for the church members. One of the broader gains resulting from the development center is the growth in discipleship of church members and the children and families of those attending the center. Opportunities for volunteering in the educating and feeding programs will offer our members a personal understanding of the church’s call to serve those in need. We believe such engagement will foster spiritual growth. In order to see this ministry come to pass, we need to purchase land and expand the current building structure to accommodate larger worship center and the facilities for the early child hood development center.
II. Seeking and saving the lost (Luke 19:10) - 10/40 Ministry opportunities
We were also able to visit one of the ministries at for fronts to reach the Muslim community. The 10/40 Window is a section of the world located between latitudes 10 degrees and 40 degrees north of the equator. It covers the Middle East, North Africa, Central and Southeast Asia, and holds two-thirds of the world's population. The window also contains the world's most unreached people groups, and most of the world's governments who oppose Christianity. The 10/40 Window bears the world's greatest physical and spiritual needs.
This ministry testifies that since the ministries inception, has successfully reached thousands of Muslims. During our Visit we had an opportunity to witness the baptism of about 50 Muslim converts. What a joy it is to hear such good news!
We hope to partner 10/40 ministry in providing financial support and with outreach focused teaching and training opportunities for new and existing ministers.

Vision, Mission and Goals of 10/40 ministry
1. To focus on planting dynamic house Churches: These Churches will be organized in a way that they would multiply themselves. The evangelistic opportunities we are having these days demand us to do rather than just big Church buildings. However, this does not replace the existing Church systems which are also very important for our growth, legal protection, and community influence.
2. To prepare a well-designed and managed training programs: these enable the movement go forward, and expand everywhere in a good pace. Such programs are backbones for movements. The training will be both formal and informal. Trainees should be challenged by the trainings. Character formation will be the main focus as well as head knowledge.
3. To establish a mission movement that starts from Ethiopia goes to North Africa and Middle East countries: We can observe from the world map that this is a Triangular Movement that connects all the countries from Ethiopia to top of both North Africa and Middle East. The countries in the triangle are part of the Ten Forty Region of the globe. Ethiopians have more opportunities than the western missionaries to reach the unreached people of the Ten Forty window of the globe.
4. To work with unity with sister organizations and individuals: by unity we can advance the Kingdom of God in a better way. Our differences should bring us together that we may complement each other. The Kingdom of God calls to unity. Ten Forty Ministries believes unity comes by accepting and respecting differences.

III. Looking after the Orphans (James 1:27) - AHOPE, a home to HIV positive Orphans
AHOPE for Children and AHOPE Ethiopia are at a cross in the road. When AHOPE started, they were fundamentally a hospice – where children would be cared for in the time before their death. But with the advances in HIV treatment, the children are living and looking forward to a bright future. The center cares for 200 children. By the grace of God and our faithful givers, we were able to meet a great need. After receiving the offering we have brought, the Director shared with us that, they have been praying for God to provide some fund to purchase shoes for the children. The funds provided by our faithful givers made it possible to purchase not only one but also a second pair of much needed shoes to all the children. We hope to partner with this ministry by way of providing financial and material support.

IV. Visiting the sick Matthew 25:36 - Dembi dollo Hospital, sheet drive…no gift is too small…
Dembi Dollo and the surrounding region has been one of the highly neglected regions in Ethiopia, a town close to the Sudanese border on the Western fringe of Oromia state.
The existing hospital in Dembi Dollo is unable to properly care for its patients. It is about 60 years old and sees well over 100 outpatients and performs multiple surgeries a day. It is the only hospital estimated to server about half a million people.
We thank God and our supporters for making it possible for the patients at hospital to rest on clean sheets and not on some a plastic covered mattress. By God’s grace we were able to bring some comfort to the sick. We plan to work with the hospital by seeking for opportunities for medical mission trips and provide material support.
